| VIT Consultancy installs CCTV control room for Knightsbridge Guarding 02 June 2008 A CCTV control room has recently been installed by VIT Consultancy for guarding specialist Knightsbridge Guarding Limited (KGL). It helps to safeguard key sites in the City of London. Multiple client sites in the City, mainly blue chip companies and banks, are monitored by the control room, which has stunning surveillance capability with the ability to record uninterrupted onto local hard drives for 31 days. Image quality obtained from the system｡ｯs CCTV provides sharp, clear video which can be used as evidence in court proceedings. Footage is also evidentially watermarked to prove that the recorded images have not been tampered with. This third generation control room is fitted with 42｡ｱ plasma screens and IP-based digital video recording (DVR) which has several advantages over the more conventional methodﾋｾｷｨｿｼﾊﾔ of IP camera transmission. An IP-based DVR allows secure digital recording, even in the event of a communications or network failure, as full recording of the site(s) is maintained and no information is lost. Recording can be replayed simply on reconnection of the line. Hacking into the control room system is also nearly impossible because the recorded sites and the control room are connected by a secure firewalled virtual private network. Control room personnel at Knightsbridge Guarding Ltd have full access to all of the pre-recorded and stored footage at each remote location and this can be easily downloaded to PCｷｿｵﾘｲｹﾀｼﾛﾊｦ, burned onto DVD or CD for evidential purposes, emailed to clients or reproduced in the form of still images.
